Le canzoni di Bob Dylan per i 50 anni di Amnesty International

Bisogna celebrare alla grande il 50° compleanno di Amnesty International. Così il 31 gennaio 2012 uscirà una raccolta di canzoni di Bob Dylan reinterpretate dal fior fiore della musica mondiale. Tra i partecipanti al progetto ci sono nomi come Adele, Patti Smith, Jackson Browne, Sinead O' Connor, Elvis Costello, Marianne Faithful e molti altri, che insieme a musicisti e produttori hanno partecipato a titolo gratuito.

La raccolta, dal titolo Chimes Of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan — Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International, contiene 73 canzoni suddivise in 4 cd, più 3 pezzi bonus per la sola versione digitale. Tutti i brani sono inediti o mai incisi precedentemente (Chimes of Freedom a parte) mentre l'immagine della copertina è di Mick Haggerty, già vincitore di un grammy per Breakfast in America dei Supertramp.

L'obiettivo di questo progetto è quello di permettere ad Amnesty di avere ancora più supporto e sostenitori per le sue battaglie in difesa della libertà di parola e  contro la censura. Ancora una volta la direzione artistica è stata affidata a Jeff Ayeroff e Julie Yanatta, già autori del fortunatissimo Instant Karma, cover project su John Lennon uscito nel 2007 per sostenere la causa del Darfur.
